Phospholipid - Phospholipids are a class of lipids formed from four components: fatty acids, a negatively-charged phosphate group, an alcohol and a backbone. Phospholipids with a glycerol backbone are known as glycerophospholipids or phosphoglycerides.
Annexin - Annexin is a common name for a group of cellular proteins. There are at least ten types of annexin, all of which bind to phospholipids in the presence of calcium.
Glycerophospholipid - Glycerophospholipids or phosphoglycerides are glycerol-based phospholipids. They are the main component of biological membranes.
Apolipoproteins - Apolipoproteins are a class of apoproteins, which are proteins that depend on the presence of other small molecules, or cofactors, to function. Thus, apolipoproteins are the protein constituents of lipoproteins, which also consist of phospholipids, triacylglycerols, cholesterol, and cholesterol esters.
Northern Lipids Inc. - Offers high purity phospholipids, phospholipid derivatives and liposomal formulations for the research, biotechnology and research communities.
Avanti Polar Lipids, Inc. - Specialist manufacturer of lipids, phospholipids, phosphatidylinositol transfer protein, phosphoinositide-3-kinase, protein kinase C, reagents for solubilization of membrane proteins and lipotransfer in Alabaster, Alabama.
Cell Signalling - Research focused on phosphoinositide 3-kinases, in lipid phosporylation within cell membranes. Phospholipids initiate cascades for cellular activities. Related links to groups at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, London, UK.
