Office of Compliance and Enforcement - The Office of Compliance and Enforcement (OCE) is responsible to oversee all aspects of carrier operations subject to the jurisdiction of the Surface Transportation Board (STB), and to ensure that those operations are consistent with each carrier's statutory and regulatory responsibilities. OCE also interfaces with the public in a wide range of consumer assistance areas including its management of the STB's Rail Consumer Assistance Program which assists the public with rail-related issues nationwide; assistance with certain household goods issues related to overcharges; and through its responsibilities for receiving and maintaining filed tariffs.
Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution - The Convention on Long-Range Transboundary Air Pollution, often abbreviated as Air Pollution, is intended to protect the human environment against air pollution and to gradually reduce and prevent air pollution, including long-range transboundary air pollution.
Pollution prevention - Pollution prevention (P2) is a term used to describe a series of techniques that are used to reduce the amount of pollution generated. It is in direct contrast to most pollution control strategies which seek to manage a pollutant and reduce it's impact upon the environment.

Office of Pollution Prevention and Technical Assistance - It is the goal of the Office of Pollution Prevention and Technical Assistance (OPPTA) to develop and foster an emphasis on environmentally and economically sound approaches to achieve environmental results. This includes proactively providing resources for source reduction, re-use and recycling, voluntary compliance and pollution prevention. OPPTA encourages environmental results through various grant opportunities, public recognition awards such as the various "Governor's Awards for Environmental Excellence", broad-based educational programs and technical assistance.
